I ordered a couple Eagle Claw Water Eagle 8ft rods, took your advice. After watching some of your videos, I like what I see, awesome mid backbone!...can't wait to hook up the new reels on em!

Has anyone had any experience with ONG rods? Never seen or used either. Someguy may know about them, except I think he is quite busy at the moment up in GF

I'm on CatfishConnection right now looking at some Eagle Claw rods... Would the eglass used in the CatClaw make it more stiff thru the tip than the WaterClaw?
Plus it has a trigger...which im a little partial to when casting with wet, slimy hands.

I know a guy has a brand new ONG that he would love to sell. It is only 8' I think he has like $40 into it. It is a bit stiff for circle hooks but for setting would be great.
I use Eagle Claw Water Eagle for circle hooks.
I have a handful of rods you may be interested in.

Thanks man. I'll let you know. I'm an Ugly Stik guy. Might be looking for an 8' casting. I love my 7', but I think an 8' would make a world of difference with the 20+ cats.
My 7' did handle the 20# I caught this weekend just fine, though...so maybe I'm over thinking it. Which I probably am.

They are a bit stiffer than what I prefer but a solid rod for not a bunch of money.

I really did like the action of Deuce's 2 Water Eagles. Seems like they might be a better 'from the boat rod' while the Ugly Stik, or something stiffer would be a better 'from the shore rod'? The stiffer rod keeps the rod tip higher, helping keep the fish out of the garbage. It at least appeared that way.

I have a brand new Shimano Telora MH 8'6" I would sell for $70. Still has the tags on it

Thanks man, I'll keep that in mind. I think my dad may have one of those.
