The northerns have been biting like crazy on my catfish rigs. I usually just fish with the pontoon anchored near shore and cast my rigs straight downstream. I have caught a lot of northerns in the past few days. anywhere from 3-6 pounds. anyone else getting the same thing?

The last few times I was on the Red I didn't see any northerns, that's fun to do when your catfishing though!

Something broke my line last night. I've got mono on the line that broke, but something took it right away swam for like 15 seconds then snapped the line. Do you think it just got caught on something or could it have been a northern that just bit the line?

I would say it was most like a jack. I have caught 7-8 this year on crawlers at the toll bridge dam a couple weeks back.
